The WPA-F series, with PROFINET IO standard Ethernet interface (IEEE 802.3) is a contactless linear position transducer with HYPERWAVE magnetostrictive technology. The absence of electrical contact on the cursor eliminates the problems of consumption and abrasion of moving parts, ensuring an almost unlimited lifetime. High precision of measurement reading, with reference to non-linearity, repeatability and hysteresis make this absolute position transducer the ideal product in most industrial applications for real-time determination of position and displacement speed. High resistance to vibrations, mechanical shocks and the wide working temperature range, make this product immune even in environments where there is a particularly intense mechanical stress.

The HYPERWAVE series with fieldbus in PROFINET RTE is a device that can be defined as "Smart", thanks to the flexibility of the configuration structure via GSDML files. The position/speed process data and the alarms are sent in real time while on demand, auxiliary information is also made available, such as: hours of actual operation, real temperature and the maximum peak detected, coherence of the power supply system, presence of the quantity of the predefined cursors and a series of specific alarms of the PROFINET communication making the HYPERWAVE PROFINET series meet the Industry 4.0 "requirements" of data management also for statistical purposes and preventive maintenance.
WPA-F is available in RT (Real Time) and RT (Isochronous Real Time) versions both with General profile managing at the same time the position of 16 independent cursors or a single cursor with the Encoder standard profile (vr. 4.2).
PI certification of the Profibus - Profinet consortium also attests the quality of the firmware to the most severe immunity and safety tests.
Profinet IRT offers synchronized communication with a minimum cycle time of 250 μs.
