GEFRAN @PLAST 2026
An integrated portfolio of technologies and services, built on over 50 years of experience in the plastics industry
Gefran will be among the key players at the 20th edition of PLAST
Gefran will be among the key players at the 20th edition of PLAST, scheduled to take place from 9 to 12 June 2026 at Rho Fiera Milano (Hall 15, stand H53 J58
With over fifty years’ experience in the plastics market, Gefran has established a vertically integrated production system, high technological expertise and solid application know-how gained in the field in extrusion, injection and blow moulding processes.
“In the plastics industry, performance, operational continuity and process quality depend on the connection between automation and the ability to transform process data into value” says Alberto Piovesan, Head of Vertical Market Plastics at Gefran, who concludes: “PLAST 2026 represents the ideal opportunity for Gefran to consolidate its role as a key partner in the sector, thanks to a comprehensive and integrated portfolio of know-how, products and services, designed to support the customer throughout all stages of the value chain”.
G-Mation: control, connectivity and modularity in a single platform
At the heart of Gefran’s offering is G-Mation, the EtherCAT-based platform that simplifies automation architectures, reducing development times and integration costs. At the heart of the solution is the G-Mation P6 controller, designed to make automation modular and scalable, thanks to high performance and flexibility, with cycle times of up to 250 µs, native protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Euromap), secure connections via integrated VPN agents and Docker architecture for installing applications as “apps”.
Completing the ecosystem, two latest-generation proprietary solutions take the digitalisation of industrial processes to a new level. MAX – Machine Analytics eXpert transforms machine data into immediately actionable insights, improving energy efficiency, reducing machine downtime and enabling predictive maintenance. GAIA – Gefran AI Assistant, on the other hand, is a virtual assistant based on generative artificial intelligence, designed to support operators and maintenance staff in day-to-day management, providing contextual answers on machine status, consumption, performance and technical documentation.
From design to digitalisation: Gefran as a 360° System Integrator
Gefran Soluzioni supports machine manufacturers and industrial operators throughout the entire plant lifecycle, with a service offering that goes far beyond design consultancy. Gefran designs and manufactures bespoke electrical panels — within a vertical production chain spanning approximately 6,000 m² — and guarantees installation, on-machine cabling and commissioning, right through to the signing of the final acceptance test. This integrated approach is complemented by an advanced digital dimension: through integration with ERP and MES systems, remote support via advanced platforms, and the IoT MAX and GAIA solutions, Gefran transforms machine data into operational and strategic insights, enabling intelligent plant management throughout their entire lifecycle.
Gefran in action: a laboratory extruder as a live demonstration
A compact laboratory extruder for single-layer cast film will be on display at the stand, providing a concrete demonstration of how Gefran offers a complete, application-specific solution. The machine is controlled by the G-Mation platform with a P6 PLC as the central unit, and connected to the MAX and GAIA digital platforms: process data is collected, analysed and made accessible in real time, with the option to query GAIA to obtain immediate operational insights. A tangible example of how, from the sensor to the cloud, Gefran supports machine builders in achieving intelligent process management.
We look forward to welcoming you at Hall 15, Stand H53 J58
