Gefran: €20 million investment for the new production and technology hub in Provaglio d’Iseo (BS)

New spaces and facilities to support the Group’s growth, Maria Chiara Franceschetti: “We invest because we believe in the strength of Made in Italy”

New production and technology hub

Gefran, an Italian multinational and a leading company in the manufacture and design of sensors, components and solutions for industrial automation, announces the start of construction works for its new production and technology hub in Provaglio d’Iseo, at Via Stazione Vecchia 51, which will also become the new Group headquarters.

The project, with a total investment of €20 million, involves the renewal and expansion of a building already owned by the company. The new centre, located within an area of almost 20,000 square metres, will cover a gross surface area of approximately 13,000 square metres.

Vertical integration

The new location will be integrated into the existing manufacture system in Provaglio d’Iseo, strengthening operational synergies and creating an integrated hub made up of three interconnected plants: a configuration designed to optimise flows and improve coordination among activities.

The project reflects the long-term entrepreneurial vision of Gefran’s second generation, which has chosen to invest in what it considers one of the strategic assets for the Group’s growth: a space where technology, innovation and quality of work converge with a clear and concrete purpose.

Unveiling set for 2027

The project, which started in November of last year, is expected to be finished by March 2027, with production potentially beginning as soon as the next month. In the second quarter of 2027, the areas dedicated to corporate and management functions will also be completed, bringing the entire headquarters to full operational capacity.

The redevelopment of the industrial zone is supported by a landscaping initiative guided by a specialised agronomic study. This project prioritises indigenous species and environmentally conscious approaches that preserve local biodiversity, reduce the hub’s ecological footprint, and improve the quality of the surrounding landscape. The spaces have been designed to evolve over time, with flexible and reconfigurable environments, and with a portion of the building intentionally left open for future expansions.

This initiative is further enhanced by the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the addition of a 500 kWp photovoltaic system, which supports the site’s energy requirements and reflects a commitment to sustainable and responsible development practices.

The value of Made in Italy

“This investment looks to the future. It is a necessary step to ensure business continuity and consolidate the company’s stability for the decades to come,” said Maria Chiara Franceschetti, President of Gefran. “We believe in Made in Italy, and we are confident that our manufacturing stays competitive thanks to innovative production technologies and the vertical integration that distinguishes us. For this reason, we keep the core of our operations within an environment that efficiently aligns functions, skills, and workflow processes. We need space – spaces designed to foster collaboration and enhance proximity between the company’s different departments, because physical closeness is a tangible value: it reduces time, improves the quality of decisions, and strengthens process continuity.

Workspaces significantly influence employees’ well-being: environments that are bright, balanced, and thoughtfully designed enhance focus, provide peace of mind, and promote a secure atmosphere. Consequently, careful consideration of our workplace context and design directly supports the wellbeing of our personnel, who represent our most valuable resource.

This project serves as a clear expression of our identity and our ongoing commitment to growth. It reflects our dedication to sustainable, long-term business development and reaffirms our confidence in the enduring value of our origins.”
