Gefran launches its new 450 series temperature controller, simple to use and extremely accurate.
All 450 series models are factory-configured to satisfy most industrial heating applications (J probe input, “hot” PID control, 10-second recycle time) and can always be custom configured from keyboard and PC, with just a few parameters grouped on intuitive menus. This makes it the ideal controller for applications such as packaging and packing, labeling, food processing lines, laboratory ovens, and electric heaters in various types of industrial heating systems.
Control is accurate and stable, even in rapid and discontinuous systems, thanks to quick reading of the input signal (120 msec) and to the time-tested PID control algorithm with self- and autotuning of parameters.
The 450 guarantees maximum protection of the process thanks to a diagnostics system that signals interrupted sensor, incorrect sensor connection, and malfunctions due to loop break.
Available in standard 48x48mm size (1/16 DIN), the 450 is equipped with a universal input for temperature sensors, configurable for type J, K, R, S, T, B, E, N thermocouples and Pt100 resistance thermometers (two and three wires). Outputs are freely configurable between control output and alarm output, and are available in a 5 Amp/250VAC relay version or as logic signal to drive solid state relays.
The user interface has a complete double display with green LEDs, 4 keys, and two red LEDs to signal active outputs. The front panel has a Lexan® diaphragm to guarantee an IP65 protection level.
A PC programming kit is available, consisting of a USB cable and a user-friendly program for Windows with Wizard pages, oscilloscope for process analysis, parameter recipe saving, and reset of factory parameters.
A software protection code can be set (password protected) to restrict access to internal parameters at various levels, up to total protection.
